Excalibur Wins Somerset Cricket Deal

Unified Comms
Following its recent mobile phone contract gain with Nottingham Forest FC, Excalibur has now seen Somerset County Cricket Club renew its fully managed unified comms service, agreeing a two year extension to its current deal.

The club (established 1875), which is heading towards test venue status in 2017, has Excalibur provide all of its IT, mobile and fixed-line services for its 50 full-time personnel.

Jez Curwin, Head of Somerset CCC’s Commercial Operations, said: “We enjoy the one point of call, one personal contact with Excalibur, which means that all of our communications needs are handled very quickly and efficiently, with no complications”.

To serve its 20 management/administrative staff and 30-strong squad of players and coaches, Somerset CCC sought a range of flexible communications services from a single supplier that would allow for the club’s future growth as it becomes an increasingly popular and influential part of the Taunton, Somerset and South West communities.

“From the very first consultation to implementation and beyond”, added Curwin, “Excalibur has delivered an extremely high level of service. We work closely together to bring about the best in a long term partnership”.

For Excalibur, who this year have quadrupled the size of their office space with a move to the prestigious Arclite House in Swindon, this new contract with Somerset CCC adds to its growing portfolio of sports and leisure industry business, which includes mobile, fixed-line and IT services for three of England’s most successful football clubs.

James Phipps, Excalibur’s CEO said: “We are very pleased to be working with such a go ahead club as Somerset, where we can bring our experience in this sector to bear”.
