Excell Group Wins £60m Contract with Workspace

Excell Group announces that it has extended its existing partnership with Workspace Group by signing an eight-year IT Managed Service contract worth over £60 million in revenue, with the potential to increase as Workspace grows its portfolio. Excell Group and Workspace will continue to invest in significant upgrades to connectivity in Workspace properties, including installing one of the UK’s first 10GB fibre connections and 1.3Gbs community Wi-Fi into a commercial multi-let building.

Workspace owns and manages some 70 properties across the capital, and is home to around 4,000 New and Growing Companies (“NGCs”), including a number of companies that feature in Bloomberg’s Business Innovator List 2016.

The partnership with Excell Group offers those businesses access to high-quality network speed, performance and security, as well as managed connectivity, cloud and communication services.

Flexibility and mobility are very much at the heart of today’s workforce, with advances in technology and devices meaning that people can work anywhere and at any time. Speed, flexibility and security of connectivity – all key elements of the partnership – are at the top of the agenda for Workspace as its customers continue to look for smart ways to connect people, processes and data.

The extended partnership offers Workspace customers quality bespoke packages that meet their individual needs, as well as technical support from the start. Workspace and Excell Group not only provide a building-wide Wi-Fi network, designed from the ground up to avoid wireless signal interference, but also ensure that each customer has the right product and the right support for their business. A comprehensive security management system ensures the resilience of the network and aligns with each customer’s own internal network security. Uniquely, the partnership also offers customers flexible contracts that match the break clause in their Workspace lease, giving them the freedom to develop and grow.

Chris Pieroni, Operations Director for Workspace, said: “The provision of business-class connected services is fundamental to our customer offer, as NGCs see high spec connectivity as a basic requirement in their office space. We chose Excell Group as our preferred digital partner to boost the speed and performance of our offer, provide dedicated customer support and a resilient, secure network, as well as to ensure scalability and flexibility; all of which are absolutely critical to the growth and productivity of our ever more digitally dependent customer base. Excell Group places a high value on our customer base of new and growing companies and understands that in their search for the right home, these businesses are increasingly looking for location, location, technology.”

Darren Strowger, Chairman for Excell Group, said: “The Workspace business is at the forefront of changing ways of working across London. With around 4,000 businesses already on board, they need a network and managed service provider they can rely on so that they, in turn, can provide an agile service their customers can rely on. Excell Group is the largest independent company in the UK to own its own network, putting us in a prime position to continue to provide a portfolio of service packages tailored perfectly to fit Workspace customers across the board.”
