Exchequer Dynamics Limited, a total solutions provider for IRIS Exchequer accounting software and ERP, has embarked on consolidating its IT infrastructure following the take up of rack space at data centre and communications provider Node4’s Northampton facility.
Exchequer Dynamics, which works primarily in integrating other business systems with IRIS Exchequer accounting software, ERP and Business Management solution, called on Node4 to host its new cloud solutions centre last year and has already seen a host of benefits to its business. As a result of the move, the company has now enhanced security, improved resiliency and has greater control of its services.
The company has two sites – a head office in Christchurch, Dorset and a technical centre in Rushden, Northamptonshire which is located about fifteen minutes away from Node4’s Northampton data centre. There was a need to link both sites with the data centre as the focal point. Node4 facilitated a direct point-to-point fibre Ethernet link between Christchurch and the data centre. This has allowed Exchequer Dynamics to collocate servers and storage including centralising its VoIP telephone system for the two sites, giving it control over its entire IT infrastructure in the data centre with the resilience, redundancy and security that it required.
With the move to the Node4 data centre, Exchequer Dynamics is now in greater control of its web application servers, improving disaster recovery and backup.
Jason Richards, Technical Director for Exchequer Dynamics, said, “For our customers who are typically discerning in nature, we are now able to offer colocation services, private cloud solutions, business intelligence applications as a hosted service and data convergence for Exchequer customers using the IRIS Exchequer enterprise accounting software. With the Node4 data centre being within easy reach of our offices, it makes the management of our test and live systems very simple with 24/7 access.”
Exchequer Dynamics’ Infrastructure consists of Sophos (Astaro) UTMs, IBM servers and storage arrays offering the best security, performance and resilience combined with all the benefits of being located in the state of the art Node4 data centre.
Andrew Gilbert, Managing Director of Node4, said, “It is really important to us that we are able to facilitate the specific needs of our clients and the data centres we have are able to provide that. The network of data centres we have give peace of mind, not just because of the proximity to local businesses but also because of the high level security and reliability on offer.”
