North East reseller, Executel say they have served up an ACE with an installation for Gateshead College. The construction of the college’s new £5.5m Automotive Centre of Excellence (ACE) on Team Valley led to the £100k contract.
Executel’s Mitel 3300 solution is now in place for some 350 extensions, linking ACE with the college’s existing campuses in Gateshead and providing technology in the form of a fully integrated Voice over IP communications platform.
Of the installation, Robert Cooper, IT services manager for Gateshead College, said: “We have recently opened ACE and are continuing our growth with plans to build a brand new campus in Gateshead. Therefore, we need a first class telecoms solution with the flexibility to incorporate additional sites when required.”
“In addition, it’s becoming increasingly common for our students to enrol over the phone so we need a cutting-edge communications system which can meet the demand. Executel has provided us with that as well as an after-sales support service which is second to none.”
Awarded Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) status for Automotive Technology and Logistics, ACE claims to offer the most up-to-date facilities in the region and is equipped with the latest industry-standard equipment.
Executel sales manager, Michael Errington, said: “Now is a very exciting time in the development of Gateshead College and we are delighted to be contributing to its ongoing success. We work closely with our clients to ensure the provision of tailored telecommunications solutions which meet their every requirement and in this case, have provided the college with a flexible system which can be adapted and extended to suit future needs.”
