Exertis Brings Wileyfox to UK

Exertis has signed an exclusive agreement with new smartphone manufacturer, Wileyfox, for the distribution of its devices in the UK.

Wileyfox has teamed up with operating system Cyanogen, which is an enhanced version of Android. Wileyfox is the first mobile manufacturer to offer the new commercial variant of Cyanogen 12.1 within Europe.

Exertis is pleased to be championing this trailblazing brand in the UK, said Simon Woodman, Mobile Sales Director at Exertis: “Wileyfox has developed a great product that consumers around the world are demanding, Cyanogen, and they are bringing this to market in a great device at a great price. Once again Exertis has recognised an exciting new technology for its future potential. By backing Wileyfox in this exclusive relationship we will enable the company to get to the people that want it.

“Exertis is always focused on bringing the cutting edge of technology to its customers, and this new mobile operating system puts us on the bleeding edge. We expect the user base of Cyanogen and therefore Wileyfox’s device sales to grow exponentially, and we are helping our resellers to get these exciting products out to end users,” Woodman concluded.

Amazon is selling Wileyfox’s first two devices through Exertis and is shipping a significant number of units per day; Amazon is set to exceed unit shipment expectations this quarter, said Woodman.

Nick Muir, CEO at Wileyfox, commented: “Wileyfox is delighted to be the first brand to bring the latest Cyanogen OS, adding unrivalled levels of customisation, privacy and security features to Android 5.1. These handsets contain top tier hardware components and start at only £129 RRP. Our exclusive partnership with Exertis in the UK has been a critical part of the launch.”

Exertis now adds the Wileyfox Swift and Wileyfox Storm to its portfolio, with SRP of £129.99 and £199.99 respectively. Both devices are 4G LTE SIM-free devices with dual SIM operation.
