LG has announced the launch of the G4 smartphone, a device designed for the top end of the market, with a strong emphasis on a great visual experience.

The Android 5.1 Lollipop smartphone will be available from the end of May in the UK from distributor, Exertis, and selected high street and network operator LG partners.

Simon Woodman, Exertis Mobile Sales Director, commented on the LG G4, “Exertis is proud to be the only UK distributor to work with this premium end device and we’re excited to be able to launch the LG G4 into the UK. Its cutting edge photographic capabilities are incredibly unique and will make the G4 a sure-fire hit with users interested in taking more than just snaps, while the handcrafted leather casing, beautiful design and business features mean its set to be an executive favourite.”

Andrew Coughlin, head of mobile at LG Electronics for the UK and Ireland, stated: “It’s great to have Exertis on board to bring the G4 to the British market. We see this smartphone being popular with a multitude of users, from consumer through to business; it has everything anyone could need, from comfortable elegance with the stylish design, the human-centric UX for the best in usability, and a great visual experience which is what users today demand and deserve.

“Over time smartphones have become slabs of flat metal. We wanted to create a smartphone that was more natural than that, so we put the user at the centre of the G4. This isn’t about chasing after technology for technologies sake; this is about innovation for a better life,” Coughlin concluded.

The LG G4 is the first smartphone to use the new 5.5 inch IPS Quantum Display that offers 20% greater colour reproduction, 25% improvement in brightness and 50% greater contrast. It has a 16MP camera that can capture great images, even under less than ideal lighting conditions with OIS 2.0, doubling the performance of OIS+. It also includes a Manual Mode, giving professional and budding photographers unprecedented control over their pictures.

For business users, the G4’s high quality display does not come at the expense of battery life, making it perfect for the enterprise. The LG G4 is equipped with a high capacity 3,000mAh battery that unlike many of its competitors’ devices, is removable. Combined with the benefits offered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor with X10 LTE, the LG G4 can easily get through a full day of normal use. Also for the enterprise, LG has sought out partnerships to enhance the overall user experience of the G4. Google Office comes pre-installed on the LG G4 for easy collaboration on the go and G4 owners will receive an additional 100GB of Google Drive storage free for two years.
