Exeter Communications Company Wins National Award

PCE, in Osprey Road on the Sowton Industrial Estate, have won The Federation of Communication Services’ Mobile Equipment Installer of the Year Award for the first time and becoming the first regional company to do so.

PCE is the South West’s leading independent company dealing in mobile communication equipment, such as two -way radio, hands-free mobile phone solutions, GPS, satellite navigation and mobile data systems. PCE provides these to both the private and public sector, including the emergency services.

PCE’s managing director Karen Langley collected the award at the Federation of Communication Services’ annual general meeting held at the Institution of Engineering and Technology in Savoy Place, London.

Mrs Langley said: “Premier Communication Electronics Limited are extremely proud to be presented with this prestigious award. We are committed to installing all mobile communication equipment to the highest standard and maintaining exceptional customer service. This award recognizes the company’s ongoing commitment to training and excellence in the field of mobile communications."

She added: “Our working priorities ensure we maintain high standards and happy customers, who we look after in a professional yet very approachable manner. Our business has grown entirely on word of mouth and reputation.

“The majority of our engineers have been trained in house and we strongly believe in education. All our engineers are given the opportunity to continue their studies via college or university once they begin working for the company. In fact all our engineers have obtained at least an HND in electronic engineering.

“During the installation of equipment, we endeavor to create a communications experience second to none by ensuring the equipment is installed safely providing optimum performance, but at the same time being pleasing to the eye and unobtrusive. We place particular emphasis on technical excellence and reliable after-sales care.

“Adaptability and independence of approach are one of the many advantages we offer our clients providing appropriate solutions to individual requirements.

Matthew Harris, of Winning Solutions Ltd, announced the judges’ decision and said: “We are pleased that for the first time the FCS mobile equipment installers’ award has been won by a regional installation company. The judges were impressed by the focus by PCE on installer training, conducted in house, to respond to the stringent demands of their public safety customer base and the company ethos of “You Talk, We Listen” in their strapline.

“People need to communicate in their vehicles and properly installed wireless equipment is an essential element of the growing intelligent transport systems on the horizon.”
