Fast Cars, Fast Money for Chess Telecom’s SMARTER Partners

Chess Telecom has rewarded its top performing SMARTER Partners for playing their part in its recent growth on a fast track of a different sort.

10 SMARTER Partners, along with representatives from Chess Telecom attended an adrenaline fuelled PalmerSport day, dubbed the ‘driving day like no other’, at Bedford Autodrome in October.

With a collection of super cars that ranges from Caterham Superlights to the brand new Formula Jag, the lucky partners had the chance to push both themselves and the mean machines to the limits.

The PalmerSport day was the grand finale to Chess Telecom’s recent incentive that gave all SMARTER Partners the opportunity to claim their share of a £100,000 pot, on top of their usual industry leading commissions. Each registered partner’s share of the money would be determined by revenue tie in over a fixed period and the top ten performing Partners got to attend the PalmerSport day to get a taste of the ‘fast money & fast cars’ lifestyle of the typical Formula One driver!

Rob Pointon, who works on the Sales Support team at Chess Telecom was lucky enough to attend the day. “I couldn’t believe my luck when I found out I was going. I was really excited and slightly nervous as I’m quite reserved behind the wheel! I didn’t need to worry though – the instructors were fantastic which meant there was a lot of friendly competition between us and we certainly put each other through our paces on the tracks. Chess Telecom treats all its people and partners as one big team and the Palmer Day really showed that, as well as strengthening the already fantastic relationships we have with them.”

Stuart Sharrock of Lancashire based SMARTER Partner DXP thought it was an incredible experience. “I feel really lucky to have had the opportunity to race seven different super cars in one day. We had professional racing drivers in the cars with us all and they really pushed us to the limit… so much so, in fact that I managed to win a trophy for coming second overall.”

Stuart was not the only SMARTER Partner to win an award on the tracks. Joining him on the rostrum were John Greenshaw from White Rose Telecom and Giles Ashdown from ACR Networks.

"What a fantastic day!” said Giles. “Perfect weather and an outstanding set-up at Palmer Sport. I have taken part in other "track days" but this was in a completely different league. Everything from the location, the cars and in particular the instructors were absolutely spot-on. What a great way to cement working relationships between Chess and the SMARTER Partners. Winning the single seater Palmer Jaguar challenge was the absolute icing on the cake. Thank you Chess Telecom and Palmer Sport"

“The organisation and instructors were superb, and got us driving quicker and braking later than we ever thought possible,” said Chess Telecom chief executive and overall race trophy winner David Pollock. “The day was a great opportunity to get to know our SMARTER Partners better. As our top performers over the incentive period, we knew these partners would give it all they’d got on the tracks. Everyone really got into the spirit of it and I was delighted by how much everyone enjoyed themselves.”
