Firstnet Data Centres says they are well on track to become the leading independent provider of Data Centre services and IT solutions in the North, enabling end user businesses to achieve more through technology.

The company says it brings together the world’s leading vendors and technologies in the supply, implementation and management of customers ICT requirements. They pride themselves on providing clients with the very best cloud, colocation and business continuity services, delivered out of custom, purpose-built data centres.

'Following a period of wholesale colocation to a national Telco at their Leeds site, Firstnet Datacentres was formed to relaunch this prestigious datacentre into the Leeds market, offering businesses in Leeds and the surrounding environs an alternative to hosting in Manchester and other Northern cities due to the lack of any real quality datacentre facilities in the region.'

Firstnet Datacentres claims to already have the largest available Data Centre space on the Leeds digital scene and being instrumental in showcasing Leeds as a digital capital of the north through a range of informative and engaging seminars, workshops and networking events held at the facility.

Jason Beresford has now joined the company as Chairman and Firstnet says, "With a wealth of experience and relationships across many industries holding both executive and non-executive roles.  He has experience of mergers and acquisitions and has overseen impressive growth in a number of companies. Jason’s belief in the company, its strategy and its team has underpinned his decision to take up the role.  To further underline his commitment and confidence he has made a significant multi million pound investment in the company."

Jason Beresford commented, “Having met with Stephen and the team I was impressed by the services and facilities on offer.  The strategy and direction for the company is compelling and I decided to use them to provide the critical IT infrastructure and services for an Investment Management business I lead. I believe there will always be a role for local service providers and facilities, the cloud and IT services should not always have to be a faceless entity, and nor should it be.  There is a question of scale and further growth, I’m confident that Firstnet are already ahead of the curve and will succeed.”

Stephen Leahy – Firstnet CEO commented, "We are delighted to announce our new Chairman and Investor.  With Jason on board this represents a significant step in our strategy of building the largest Datacentre service provider in the Northern Digital market. We are excited to have commenced this journey and look forward to making some bold acquisitions in the very near future.”
