Flirtomatic notches up one million users

Networks & Network Services
Flirtomatic, a UK-based mobile and online flirting service, has announced that it now has over one million registered users, mostly based in the UK and of which more than 50% are mobile users.

In February 2007, Flirtomatic had 225,000 registered users and, when compared with over one million registered users today, this represents an almost 350% growth within an 18 month period.

Since launching in June 2006, Flirtomatic has experienced incredible growth, not only in terms of users but also in a geographical sense with the service's expansion into Germany in July 2008. Flirtomatic has also enjoyed significant revenue growth. Since August 2007, revenue has skyrocketed by 475%.

Mark Curtis, CEO of Flirtomatic, commented: "Our success goes to show that mobile social networks are really starting to emerge and challenge their traditional online counterparts. More importantly, it's evidence that money can and is being made from mobile, which has been a key element missing from online social networks."

He continued: "Having more than a million registered users is a significant milestone for us. With over half of those users being mobile specific, it demonstrates Flirtomatic's appeal to users who want social networking wherever they are and will only use services that offer an entertaining experience. We'll continue to be fresh and will develop the service further to attract new users and keep our existing ones coming back for more."
