Formjet Looks to Take on Telecoms Market with Ideal

Formjet, the company behind Panda Software, Ability Office and the recent home software launches at Tesco and Woolworths is branching out into a new market with the launch of Ideal Telecoms.

The new company, which is committed to offering a dedicated service to customers and a comprehensive range of communications tools from the leading suppliers, is a joint venture between Formjet and telecoms specialists Du-Tel, whose founders Haydn Sinfield and Roger Houghton have almost 40 years experience between them in the telecoms market. As a result, they have built excellent relationships with many national and global carriers.

Initially, Ideal Telecoms will focus on the provision of fixed line, IP and wireless telephony, broadband and telephone systems. Business customers will benefit from peak rate calls from less than 1p per minute, and savings of up to 20% on BT line rental charges. The company will also be able to advise customers about how to gain free calls by installing private networks. Ideal Telecoms’ solutions make it easy for customers to migrate their current services, as there is no need for replacement lines or equipment, and the transfer is therefore seamless.

“We are able to offer some fantastic deals to customers,” said Roger Houghton. “But, more importantly, we will ensure that customers receive the best possible service, from their initial enquiry through to the support they get once their services are transferred. Telecoms providers are ten a penny, so the differentiating factor has got to be customer service, and we know how to do this best.”

Ideal Telecoms will be specifically targeting small to medium sized companies. They have particular expertise in the IT market, and the construction field, where Houghton and Sinfield established NMBS Telecom in 2004, as sole provider to the National Merchant Buying Society, a co-operative working on behalf of 750 builders merchants. The company will also be looking at opportunities to white label its product range.

Lyndon Chapman, Chairman at Formjet Group plc, said: “We are best known as a specialist in alternative software solutions, but behind this is a strong sales and marketing operation. This, combined with the technical skills offered by the Ideal Telecoms team will deliver an unbeatable combination, and we expect to make a significant mark in the ultra-competitive telecoms field very quickly.”
