Frontier Voice and Data gets on its bike for The Cystic Fibrosis Trust

A team from telecoms provider Frontier Voice and Data took part in the Capital to Coast bike ride on 27 June to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. The Frontier team was delighted to have received close to 200 donations and to have raised £6,215 for the charity.

The gruelling 60 mile ride took place in 30C degree heat on one of the hottest days of the year. The ride started from Esher College in Surrey and ended at Hove, East Sussex after a mammoth climb over the South Downs at Devils Dyke.

The team of nine chose the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, to support team mate Kyla who lost a member of her family to Cystic Fibrosis and who has campaigned tirelessly ever since to raise money and awareness. One of the company’s Directors also lost a family member to this terrible disease which affects over 8500 people in the UK.

The substantial sum raised by the Frontier Voice & Data team will help fund care for sufferers and vital projects such as gene therapy.

Michael J Thornton, Sales and Marketing Director, said “The bike ride was very challenging, especially in such hot weather, but it was worth the effort to raise money for The Cystic Fibrosis Trust. Fortunately there was Pimms and lemonade at the finish for those that found it somewhat more of a struggle. Personally I have donated my bike to a young lad in my road as I never want to see it again! We would all like to offer our huge thanks for the support and generous donations offered by our Channel Partners and suppliers.”
