Chris Williams, area general manager, FullFibre, is leading the build. Leek has benefitted from an accelerated rollout by making efficient use of existing passive infrastructure. This method reduces the disruption caused to the local community that can result from other methods.
The progress being made in Leek has also enabled Full Fibre to accelerate its plans in neighbouring Cheadle, where work has now started.
