Game of Two Halves

Football mad Hertford communications company Universal Group had their first taste of the five-a-side game recently which saw a mix of youth and experience taking the field at Mill Hill in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust. The 12 team tournament included a team from the popular TV show Soccer AM and a team that included the former Aston Villa midfielder Ian Taylor.

Pat Hunt, Project Manager at Universal commented, “Despite limited expectations we got off to a flying start wining our first three games before losing by a single goal to the celebrities of Soccer AM, this was despite absolutely battering them.

After a fine 4-1 victory against the hosts, Taylor Brown Recruitment, we were in the Semi Final. However, despite a heroic effort we went down to the eventual winners 3-1. All in all it was a great day out and the tournament was played in a competitive yet fair manner for a great cause. We will definitely be back next year hoping to support and build on this year’s fantastic event.”

Clearly buoyed by the competition Hunt threw down the gauntlet to potential challengers, “If there are any our clients that would be interested in a five-a-side against Universal please get in touch."
