Gamma launches Converged Ethernet giving channel new margin opportunities

Gamma today announces the release of a new set of Ethernet-based services that give businesses dedicated and high availability connections to the internet together with Gamma’s leading Hosted IP Telephony and SIP Trunking services. The move firmly signals Gamma’s intent to be a major player in the data market and goes to further compliment an already comprehensive product portfolio that spans fixed and mobile voice, IP Telephony, as well fixed and mobile data.

As with all services supplied by Gamma, Converged Ethernet has been designed to be sold through the channel and, as such, provides partners with a number of benefits, including instant online pricing.

James Bushell, Head of Data Services at Gamma, said, “Partners cannot only turn quotes around instantly, but they are also given a comprehensive quote across both Ethernet and IP Telephony. This joined up approached is central to our offering, from quoting to project management of orders and all the way through to in-life support - our Partners deal with a single and accountable supplier for voice and data access.”

Adam Faulkner of Sabio, an early adopter of Gamma’s service, highlighted the importance of confidence in their suppliers operation, “With complex large-scale deployments, it’s essential that both business work together, that we have access to top-class pre-sales and that we know delivery lead times are going to predictable – this is what we get from Gamma and it’s pivotal to the success we are having with Ethernet in the contact centre market.”

James Bushell added, “We’ve also made services extremely commercially attractive, providing free installs and free Cisco routers for simple internet access as well as large-scale voice and converged deployments. With the cost savings realised from removing legacy ISDN and leased line services, together with providing both voice and data using converged access, we expect partners to tap into a very rich stream of opportunity and profit.”
