Gamma Upgrade IPDirectConnect

Gamma Telecom has announced the launch of version 3.0 of its SIP Trunking service,

namely IPDirectConnect (IPDC).

The major enhancement within version 3.0 means that virtually any PBX or CPE can now be accepted onto the Gamma network. This is accomplished by the acceptance of connections from PBXs that use SIP registration as well as static IP authentication. This key improvement to the service opens up new markets for partners, allowing them to sell to virtually all customers with a variety of equipment.

Version 3.0 also enables Gamma to offer its partners a fully managed end-to-end solution which includes the router and the ADSL broadband service. In this instance, Gamma will take full responsibility for the service (up to the router) ensuring that faults can easily be rectified, and, Gamma’s partners need only speak to one supplier for both services, which will improve order management and supply chain processes.

Other benefits of the new version include a presentation CLI facility and a Call Divert service which will give customers a clear failover mechanism by providing dedicated back-up at network level.

Alan Mackie, Senior Product Manager, at Gamma commented, “We are very proud of the capabilities that version 3.0 will bring to the market. The service enhancements will provide an enhanced level of features and facilities to the product that will enable Gamma’s partners to offer quality voice services to their customers. To date, the success of IPDC has seen over 500 IP end points servicing over 100 customers and we will be looking for version 3.0 to build upon this success.”
