Universal Managing Director Terry Hunt told his staff this morning, “Ty informed me that he has decided to leave the company with immediate effect and take on a different role and new direction in his career.
Ty and I have been business colleagues and, more importantly, close friends for nearly 20 years. In that time we have seen Universal grow from a small dot of a company in a newly forming independent telephony industry to a highly respected player in a globally expanding converged communications market.
Ty has been a tremendous ambassador for Universal over those years and has played a major role in developing not only the company but the Industry. His qualities as a colourful character, his great presence and his immense Industry knowledge will be a loss to us, but the memories will stay with us always.
Ty and I part on good terms and my respect for him is as high as ever. I and the Company will always be grateful for the considerable contribution Ty has made to our history and we wish both Jenny and Ty every success and happiness in the future.
Speaking to Comms Business Magazine Ty Gardner said that he was going to take a few weeks off on holiday but that he would be back working in the channel in the near future.
Gardner has been a high profile spokesperson the company for many years as well as being responsible for securing a number of high profile customers.
