Give Cold Calls the Boot

Nimans is reporting strong sales of two new DECT telephones that have the ability to block unwanted cold calls. Both the BT 6500 and Gigaset S820A can prevent nuisance callers as part of a host of innovative features.

Nimans says the phones represent a powerful new addition to a reseller’s sales armoury, opening up compelling sales opportunities in workplace and home office environments.

The BT device allows users to block any unwanted calls from up to 10 numbers not just international and withheld calls. They can put the phone into silent mode and add recognised numbers to a VIP list. Customers can copy contacts between handsets and set parental controls to block outgoing mobile/premium calls.

The Gigaset S820A features a user-friendly 2.4” touchscreen and various

call management functions including anonymous call silencing or blocking, 15 number blacklisting and a ‘do not disturb’ option. There’s an address book for up to 500 entries: birthday reminders and custom ringtones whilst a ‘Message Centre’ lists outgoing, incoming and missed calls. A 20-hour talk time is combined with 250 hours standby.

Nimans’ Purchasing Director, Andy Winfield, says both devices have built-in answer machines and represent a major step forward, combining stylish designs with all-in-one functionality.

“Until recently call blocking was not an inbuilt function of DECT telephones but these latest developments from BT and Gigaset provide resellers with new weapons to clinch more business,” he emphasised.

Nimans also stocks a dedicated standalone solution for customers that do not wish to replace their handsets.
