GN Netcom to Design and Manufacture Own Label Bluetooth Headset for T-Mobile

Headset vendor GN Netcom, a global innovator in the provision of headset solutions, is to develop a T-Mobile branded headset, ‘Powered by Jabra’, for the UK network operator. The deal is part of GN Netcom’s strategy of becoming a trusted OEM and follows recent partnership agreements with other major UK mobile operators, including O2 and Orange.

The T-Mobile headset is available from the mobile operator’s shops and website and will also be sold through the company’s business and telesales channels across multiple countries. In addition, it will form part of the company’s loyalty and retention channel.

The headset will be based on GN Netcom’s affordable award-winning designs that comprise comfort, practicality, durability and ease of use. Known as Lunar, the headset features a discreet and intuitive design with optimised sound quality and 7 hours talk-time and 200 house standby time. It is available immediately with a recommended retail price of £19.99.

“We have invested heavily in new product development, and specifically in our ability to provide flexible solutions to our customers who can leverage our scale to reduce costs,” commented Andrew Doyle, Sales Director, Jabra UK and Ireland. “Our parent company, GN Netcom A/S, successfully manufactures for many of the major handset brands, so it is a natural move for us to now provide operators and retailers with solutions for their own label requirements.”

“With Jabra’s market knowledge, product technology and innovation, we can meet our customers’ demand for a stylish, easy-to-use Bluetooth headset,” explained Daniel Meredith, Head of Handset and Device Marketing, T-Mobile.
