Goldcrest Films to Premiere Avaya IP Office 8.1 at UK Headquarters

Goldcrest Films has chosen Avaya, a global provider of business collaboration and communications solutions and services, as the basis for it communications infrastructure across its two central London offices.

Goldcrest’s London offices is a creative hub for 100s of independent production and post-productions a year as well as the company’s own headquarters, making it one of, if not the, biggest film production hubs in London. The BAFTA Award winning company has worked on blockbusters including Sherlock, Pirates of the Caribbean, Attack the Block and Mad Dogs to name a few.

Working with Avaya Connect channel partner, Sure Communications, Goldcrest will provide the capabilities of Avaya IP Office 8.1 to its own staff and to the film production companies that use its two Soho offices throughout the year.

With Avaya Office 8.1, all Goldcrest staff can now “hot desk” at either office simply by logging into the nearest desk phone. They can also use their iPhone or Android device as an extension of their desk phone regardless of where they are located – in or out of the office for increased productivity while mobile.

With staff spread across two locations moving to IP Office 8.1 means the sites can be run as a single environment giving them a more cost-effective, simplified way to manage more people on a network across the multiple sites. IT staff have a single point of management and receptionists can answer, transfer and divert calls from either building for improved responsiveness and reduced administration costs.

Goldcrest can also give tenants access to advanced phone functionality without updating their existing analogue phones, including call forwarding, conferencing and voicemail to email capabilities through the Avaya one-X™ portal. As a result, staff who regularly collaborate across companies, on fast moving, tight-turnaround projects need never miss a call or a business opportunity.

“With numerous productions and our own staff based between the two London sites, moving to IP Office 8.1 means that the sites can be run as a single location. Our IT team now has a single point of management across both sites and our receptionists can answer, transfer and divert calls from either building. This is a huge efficiency benefit.

For our tenants, working to tight deadlines and often with several different collaborators means the ability to respond rapidly to requests is essential. Now if they are collaborating with staff in another building the ability to log into their nearest desk phone or make and receive calls via their iPhone using Avaya one-X means they need never miss a call. Our infrastructure is actively helping them to run a more responsive business.” Richard Barns, Head of IT, Goldcrest commented.

“Avaya IP Office 8.1 is by far the best product available on the market today pound for pound. Whether our customer is a growing SME or a cost conscious mid-market enterprise competing against much bigger market players IP Office 8.1 enables us to address their needs. Its mobility, security and management issues features are intuitive and robust. In terms of feature sets, reliability and quality it simply cannot be beaten.” Joe Cooke, Service Director, Sure Communications added.
