Gradwell Wins Top Internet Industry Award

Internet services provider Gradwell is celebrating after winning the ‘Best Internet Telephony’ category at the UK Internet Industry awards.

The Gradwell team, headed by founder and managing director Dr Peter Gradwell, collected the ‘Best Internet Telephony’ accolade at the ceremony for the 2010 Internet Services Provider’s Association (ISPA) awards, held at the London Grosvenor Marriott Hotel.

The Internet Industry Awards, now in their 12th year, recognise the best individuals and organisations in the UK internet industry, following laborious testing and an independent judging process by broadband communications authority Epitiro, as well as celebrating innovation and best practice.

Epitiro ran automated tests every few minutes over the course of a month to test Gradwell’s services, focusing on a criteria that included background noise, call set up time and audio quality. In addition, the ISPA judges deliberated on areas such as price and value for money, free access to other VoIP networks and value added services.

Peter Gradwell said: “We’re ecstatic to have won this ISPA award! We’ve always taken great care to listen to our customers and using their suggestions and feedback we have invested significantly in improvements to our service over the last few years. Winning this category is therefore extremely important to us, independently verifying to the industry that our service is being recognised.

“We’ve also grown significantly as customers have recognised the quality of our service. We now provide over 10,000 small UK businesses with more than 44,000 active VoIP lines and last year we were named in the South West’s five fastest growing technology companies in Deloitte’s UK Technology Fast 50 Awards programme.”

Gradwell is also attracting industry comment on its rapid expansion. Matt Townend, managing director of illume Consulting, added, “Gradwell have demonstrated strong growth in the SME segment of the market, reaching a 23% market share in the 1-10 employees segment of the market for March 2010.”
