Greener Hosting is Friend of Earth

Green Cloud Hosting is responding to the government’s new action plan to restore and protect the environment – the first of its kind in 20 years.

The cloud computing company that provides Data Centre services to VOIP resellers has announced it will give 5% of its profit to Friends of the Earth and for every new customer, they plant a tree with The Woodland Trust.

The government announced in June this year its plans under ‘The Natural Choice’, the first White Paper on the environment in 20 years.

England’s natural environment will be better protected, restored and improved under ambitious new plans.

The proposals set out a detailed programme of action to repair damage done to the environment in the past, and urges everyone to get involved in helping nature to flourish at all levels – from neighbourhoods to national parks.

Green Cloud starts at the grassroots – providing free paper, glass and tin recycling bins to all customers. They’ll also take your empty printer cartridges and unwanted mobiles and recycle them, raising vital funds for national charities.

Green Cloud’s Kamran Maqbool said, ‘We believe preserving and protecting our environment is everyone’s responsibility and that includes businesses. We support and encourage our customers and partners to be green. Even small steps can make a big difference.’

The company has reinforced its commitment to all things green by becoming a Green Champion under Manchester City Council’s scheme for environmentally friendly businesses.

Green Cloud Hosting provides Cloud computing and Data Centre services such as Colocation, Virtual servers and connectivity which in turn provides cost and energy savings.
