Guaranteed Quality of Service for VoIP from Stripe 21

Stephen North, Managing Director, Stripe 21 says In the UK market, traditional PABX system sales are now in decline, whilst businesses are opting for lower cost hosted PABX services in “the cloud”.

This has a number of cost and flexibility advantages, and Very Small (sub 8 extension) and larger corporate and public sector installations are well supported. However, there is a hole in the small to medium sector.

Question: which access network can guarantee 10, 20, 30+ simultaneous calls but at a lower cost than traditional ISDN lines?

ISDN services guarantee the Quality, Security and Reliability for calls that are essential in business-to-business communications. With this basic parameter as it’s cornerstone, Stripe 21 claim to have solved the access problem for VoIP services into the 10 to 200 extension market.

Stripe 21 can support up to 30 simultaneous SIP or ISDN calls on a single broadband connection, with an engineered Service Level Agreement. Whilst others now offer similar services on EFM, this limits their geographic reach and is still not commercially viable for smaller installations.

Stripe 21 guarantees Quality of Service over a single ADSL connection in these call volumes, with Mean Opinion Scores (MOS values) which equal or exceed the Quality, Security and Reliability of ISDN services but at the SIP trunk price point. Transparent number porting is also standard. The service also offers a raft of managed services, from wholesale interconnects to ITSP’s through to fully managed services in white label format for resellers and dealers.
