‘HIGHnet HIGHperventilators’ raise over £700 for the Highland Hospice

Scottish business communications provider, HIGHnet, has raised over £700 for local charity Highland Hospice by competing in the Loch Ness 10K Corporate Challenge at the weekend.

Competing against other local companies, David Alldritt (Technical Director), Katrina Macleod (Network Provisioning Director), Keith Masson (Billing Manager) and Jennifer Nicol (Marketing Manager) posted an average time of 57mins, while Laura Cruickshank (Provisioning Administrator) also joined in the race to raise money for the team running the 5K.

The Highland Hospice is the only hospice serving adults with incurable life limiting disease in the Highlands of Scotland and is acknowledged as the centre of specialist palliative care expertise in the region.

Team captain, Jennifer Nicol, said: “We are delighted with our performance; 3 out of the 4 of us have never done any long distance running before, so to even complete it seemed a tall order a few months ago! Most importantly we smashed our target of £600 for the Hospice with donations still pouring in, so we’re grateful for all the support our friends and colleagues have kindly given.”

Lindsay Campbell, Communications Officer at the Highland Hospice commented: “We at Highland Hospice are grateful for the support from the team at HIGHnet in undertaking the 10k Corporate Challenge at the recent Baxters Festival of Running. The £700+ they have raised in donations is a testament to their commitment to their community and we thank them for their ongoing support of this valuable palliative care service in the Highlands.”
