NexTone Communications, which makes session management platforms has announced that UK hosted telephony vendor HipCom has deployed the NexTone Multi-protocol Session Controller (MSC).
The NexTone MSC supports both Class 4 and Class 5 call routing, and is interoperability-tested with the BroadSoft BroadWorks VoIP application server. HipCom’s initial network deployment of the NexTone MSC included the implementation and integration of BroadSoft’s platform.
The functionality within the NexTone MSC also has enabled HipCom to deploy SIP trunking – a new service for its reseller partners. The NexTone MSC's SIP trunking capability lets HipCom route traditional TDM voice minutes over IP, so its partners now can take further advantage of VoIP.
