IDT integrates IPX into its network

IDT Corporation is integrating IPX into its global network.

IPX will help mobile network operators (MNOs) provide end users with voice quality while meeting the growing demand for anywhere, anytime communications driven by the proliferation of smart devices and rising consumer expectations.

IDT’s IPX offering is a Packet Voice Internetworking Exchange that has been designed to meet the i3 Forum and GSM specifications. MNOs can connect to other operators around the world with a high-quality, secure connection, and are provided with the quality of service (QoS) and measurement tools they need to ensure the highest voice quality on minutes traversing IDT’s network. As a result, MNOs can deliver a superior and more reliable connection for their customers and improve their quality of experience.

“IDT provides outstanding call quality and efficiency to operators on our network, and our IPX solution builds on that tradition,” said Ben Hirsch, Chief Marketing Officer at IDT. “Voice calls can be up to 40 percent longer when the voice quality is crystal clear, so an offering like IPX can have a significant impact on the volume of minutes carried on an operator’s network.”

The single dedicated connection with IDT IPX ensures increased security and higher QoS standards and metrics when compared with voice traffic over the public Internet. IDT offers constant network support, regular testing on all advanced features, and proactive real-time IPX route monitoring to ensure maximum quality.
