Imago Group has been appointed by Barco to distribute ClickShare, its popular wireless presentation and collaboration system in the UK, following Imago’s successful marketing of the product in France.
The news completes a circle for Imago Managing Director, Ian Vickerage, who was MD of Cameron Communications, the exclusive distributor of Barco products in the UK until 1990, then Barco UK Managing Director until 1991 when he left to set up Imago.
Sid Stanley, Channel Director Europe at Barco comments: “We are delighted that Imago UK will be adding ClickShare to its portfolio. As a result of the depth of its value-add services, Imago can already boast leadership in the value-add distribution of video solutions. Value-add resellers and system integrators in the video channel can now look forward to accessing ClickShare via a distributor who will ensure they are well supported and enabled to sell the product”.
The agreement between the two companies coincides with the launch of ClickShare’s dual-display functionality, audio integration and iPad compatibility, which were unveiled at ISE in January. ClickShare allows meeting participants to show their presentations on meeting room screens simply by connecting the ClickShare USB device to their laptop. The beauty of the solution is in its simplicity. Regardless of the sophisticated set-up of the AV equipment, ClickShare manages the technology without the need for additional cabling or downloading complex applications. In addition, connecting a ClickShare button to a laptop will not change the screen resolution, so users can be confident that the presentation will be in proportion and displayed to the highest possible resolution.
Ian Vickerage said: “In the twenty years since I left Barco, the quality of their product range has continued to develop from strength to strength, and the ClickShare solution is a great example of Barco’s dedication to innovation and user-friendly solutions. ClickShare is a perfect fit with many of our other meeting room technologies and cleverly enables up to four participants to be on screen simultaneously. This has a very positive effect on the dynamics of the meeting, and engenders confidence in participants who know that the quality of the presentation on their laptop will be duplicated on the large screen. It is also a great opportunity for our reseller channel to sell an elegant and complementary meeting room solution. It’s good to be going back to my roots!”
