Inclarity to extend relationship with TeleCity

TeleCity has announced a five year extension to their agreement with Inclarity, a provider of voice-over-broadband telephony services. Inclarity has extended its relationship with TeleCity with the acquisition of additional managed data centre services and suited space to host the IP Centrex infrastructure behind its broadband Voice over IP (VoIP) telephony service.

Inclarity’s decision to expand its relationship with TeleCity is driven by the growth in demand for its VoIP service, Broadband Telephony, in Europe which has led to a significant increase in its customer base. VoIP services, sometimes known as internet telephony, have seen significant growth and take up by businesses in the UK over the last eighteen months as the technologies become more mainstream. As VoIP uses IP Networks, rather than the regulated traditional telephone network, calling plans are potentially unlimited and offer considerable cost savings over traditional PSTN telephony. VoIP services also allow organisations to get rid of the need to buy and maintain expensive PBX systems.

VoIP services generally require a broadband internet connection. As such high-speed internet connectivity becomes ubiquitous in the market place the growth expectations for VoIP and IP Centrex services are high. Analysts Ovum predict the IP Centrex market in the UK to be worth €120m by 2007 and €390m in Europe.

“End-user satisfaction is crucial for our Broadband Telephony service, and quality and reliability should never be in doubt,” said Mark Gilliland, Chief Technical Officer, Inclarity. “We initially chose TeleCity because of the high quality facilities and levels of round-the-clock engineering support available. Over the last eighteen months we have been able to grow our business in the knowledge that our infrastructure is in the best possible location with unrivalled levels of support. We look forward to developing our relationship over the years to come as demand for our services increase.”

“TeleCity is the logical infrastructure hosting location for VoIP operators who are serious about their commitment to high levels of service quality and availability,” said Andy Horn, Managing Director, TeleCity UK and Ireland. “We offer unrivalled choices and levels of connectivity with multiple Tier 1 national and international carriers, round-the-clock engineering support, and years of experience in dealing with these technologies. VoIP represents the future of telephony, and we are very pleased that a market leader such as Inclarity has decided to extend their relationship with us.”
