Interoute partners with SIPCOM for Microsoft hosted Lync

Interoute has announced its strategic partnership with service provider, SIPCOM, to deliver Microsoft Lync Server 2010 to organisations across Europe.

Interoute is placing SIPCOM’s unified communication platform in its pan-European cloud, enabling organisations to connect employees in new ways, regardless of physical location.

The companies say that by turning to SIPCOM and Interoute for their unified communications needs, organisations can move their global inbound and outbound VoIP communication to a single interface, without having to overcome the complexity of combining multiple software architectures, or embarking on expensive migration projects. Moreover, additional capabilities of the new Microsoft end user license agreement, as a result of License Mobility through Software Assurance, makes it easier for organisations to switch to a hosted cloud environment without additional costs.

At the same time, SIPCOM’s shared Interoute hosted environment enables organisations to buy Microsoft Lync on a per-user basis for increased business flexibility and improved return on investment. By obtaining bundled offerings in this way, organisations can benefit from Interoute’s full portfolio of unified connectivity, communications and computing products.

Daniel Allen CEO of SIPCOM, said: “We’re excited to announce our partnership with Interoute. The reach of its pan-European hosting platform means that we can offer our communications packages to a wider audience than ever before and its expertise in SIP Trunking complements our Lync 2010 offering perfectly.”

Andrew Lund, EMEA Director, B2B Channels, Hosting and Partner Cloud, Microsoft, added: “Microsoft continues to lead the charge in the huge opportunity that is hosted unified communications. Unified communications combines the power of Lync 2010 with the best partner ecosystems and we believe that Interoute, through its key pan EMEA network and cloud platform, can deliver a best in class end user experience to its business customers. Combining all these elements, Interoute will deliver full unified communications and Enterprise Voice, enabled by SIPCOM, as a service to its enterprise markets.”

Matthew Finnie, CTO of Interoute, comments: “There is a real need to provide organisations with full unified communications services that help them meet changing business communication needs. By partnering with SIPCOM, we’re making it easier than ever for organisations across Europe to improve their communications.”

Microsoft’s certification of Interoute One means Interoute’s customers can benefit from full Microsoft support, a strong competitive advantage for Interoute as any business running SIP trunking without certification forgoes Microsoft support.
