RHM Telecommunications has just received its Investors in People (IIP) award. It comes after two years of hard work by the whole team and coincides with major investment in new technology by the firm. Managing Director Myles Leach is delighted to achieve IIP recognition, seeing it as an important part of maintaining skills in a rapidly developing market. “We have always focused on creating strong, stable teams but it was good to follow a formal route. IIP is an important achievement for us right now because of the investments in new technologies we’re making – the process helped us to take the best working practices we already had. It also helped us to retain the levels of quality and motivation needed to exploit emerging technology opportunities in full.”
The IIP presentation took place in June when MD of Quality South West, Bob Wright, visited RHM headquarters. It follows other significant awards for the firm including BT MATP partner of the quarter earlier this year and BT Gold Partner status.
Sales Director Nick Thomas agrees with Myles that the link between people and technology is crucial: “There have been rapid changes in infrastructure as IP telephony comes on line. What we’ve found is that technical know-how matters, but commitment to excellence is essential too. Only motivated teams can deliver the payback our clients need. IIP is an important part of this mix of business focus and technical excellence.”
On the technical side of things, ongoing work in IP technology by RHM includes substantial engineering investment in Microsoft products and the LAN environment. It also includes the addition of Swyx Solutions’ “SwyxWare” to the company’s IP telephony portfolio. An alternative to conventional voice technologies, SwyxWare fits perfectly with the existing RHM portfolio of converged voice and data solutions. Clients gain access to all of the benefits of software-based telephony, with far greater flexibility and responsiveness to business demands as well as lower costs.
