ipcortex launch version 4.0 of VoIPCortex IP PBX

UK based vendor ipcortex has announced that the fourth major release of their open standards based VoIPCortex IP PBX platform is now available.

Version 4.0 introduces a range of new functionality to the VoIPCortex range, as well as enhancements to a number of features and functions already available as standard on the widely deployed VoIPCortex 3.2 platform.

Key new features include, true high availability operation with continuous synchronisation and failover between two units on all mid-range and enterprise systems, introduction of video calling and wideband audio (HD voice), enhanced queue functionality - visual monitoring and wallboard, alerts, enhanced call statistics and reporting, new interfaces to support third party call reporting systems, enhanced Open Communications Manager including native desktop integration with Microsoft Outlook and the introduction of T38 fax (FoIP) support.

Ipcortex also announced faster rollout via auto provisioning support for more handsets and accessories (taking total to over 70) and pre configuration activated by deployed handset.

All of the features in version 4.0 are available as standard, with no bolt-ons or licences necessary.

Commenting on the launch, ipcortex Director Rob Pickering said, “While organisations see the value and business benefits of advanced unified communications, delivering these reliably remains a core requirement. We're really excited about how version 4.0 meets those needs, offering sophisticated unified communications features and a level of resilience previously only available on much more expensive systems - all whilst maintaining the ease of configuration that our customers rate so highly.”
