iPhone Targets Office in a Pocket Market

Networks & Network Services
The iPhone is set to become the small business office in your pocket with the launch of icomplete for iPhone. The end of O2’s hold on the iPhone in the UK, coupled with the precedent-setting FCC ruling on VOIP over 3G for the iPhone, means that the time has never been more right for virtualisation to reach the iPhone, says the service provider.

icomplete has made its name by offering a virtualised ‘pay-as-you-go’ office where everything from computing applications to call routing, appointment booking services and VoIP dialling can be run on the behalf of a small business by icomplete and paid for on a monthly basis. The changing environment that the iPhone finds itself in has made it the ideal device for organisations such as icomplete to build their mobile platforms for. Being a nimble, UK-based, small business, iComplete has been able to react quickly to the news that the iPhone will be available on multiple networks and, recognising the opportunities this brings, is one of the first organisations to create a business application of this kind.

The first version of icomplete for iPhone includes visual voicemail functionality that will allow O2 users to sidestep plans to offer this application only on premium tariffs. icomplete for iPhone V2 is already in development and will include VOIP functionality amongst other new offerings. With an iComplete VOIP call to the USA costing just 1.28 pence per minute, icomplete believes that it can significantly reduce the cost of doing business in the tough economic climate.

icomplete is working to have a downloadable version of icomplete for iPhone available on the Apple iStore soon and expects to be followed by a number of other developers creating an explosion of business applications to purchase through the portal. In this respect, iComplete believes that the iPhone is just about to come of age as a business tool.
