It’s showtime for Avaya at GITEX 2020

GITEX Technology Week is an exceptional event and we are always eager to participate in it. It’s the perfect opportunity to find out about the latest technical solutions we have developed to enable business sustainability and the globalisation of work.”

With this message, the president of Avaya in its international markets (EMEA & APAC), Nidal Abou-Ltaif (pictured above) kicks off the company’s participation at the annual GITEX Technology Week event, held in Dubai and billed as the only major global in-person tech event of the year. Avaya enters GITEX stronger than ever and well placed to help customers and partners deal with the challenges the future holds.

This is reflected in the strong financial results Avaya recently posted for its fiscal fourth quarter and full financial year. Revenue for the quarter was $755 million, $35 million up from the previous quarter, and $31 million up from the same period a year ago. Cloud, Alliance Partners and Subscription (CAPS) revenue for the full year amounted to 26% of total earnings, compared to 15% in the previous fiscal year. Despite the pandemic, Avaya won more than 1,500 new customers globally in its last quarter alone, recording a 50% increase from Q3. The company’s revenue from Software and Services was 88%, while recurring revenue was 63%.

“These results are important because they represent how far our business has come as a cloud and SaaS company, and are indicative of our transformation. It shows that we are on the right path, but it also further demonstrates the relevance of our technology and solutions in today’s market,” Abou-Ltaif explains.

The numbers also demonstrate that it is a fantastic time to be an Avaya channel partner and a key focus at GITEX is to show how the company is supporting partners and creating greater revenue opportunities. The most recent enhancements to the award-winning Edge Channel Partner Program enable Avaya partners to continue to grow as they help their end user customers transition from on-premise ICT infrastructures to cloud-based subscription models.

Avaya’s continued investment in Edge, which has garnered a number of awards over the years, delivers progress in three key areas of the program: simplification, speed of commerce, and skills development. The changes will help partners of all sizes succeed as businesses transition to cloud solutions, engage in digital transformation and look to the advantages of new and emerging technologies that slot neatly into the brand’s OneCloud architecture.

These technologies will be the centrepiece of Avaya’s participation at GITEX this year, and the vendor is making sure that the opportunities to hear about them are spread far and wide. Avaya will be broadcasting a series of specially prepared content segments to more than 150 cities and hundreds of customers and partners around the world, through a daily live broadcast – bringing the show online. “I am excited to have been able to mobilise my team and our partners to deliver on this mammoth initiative,” Abou-Ltaif enthuses. “It’s going to be our greatest show.”

Over the past two decades, Avaya has used GITEX as a platform to demonstrate its commitment to addressing the economic, technological and social challenges of the day with solutions that meet the vast ambitions of a global customer base. This year is no different. Under the theme ‘Every Experience Matters’, Avaya is demonstrating workstream collaboration and customer experience solutions that prepare organizations for the new future of work. And to show these solutions in action, the company will be joined by a number of its customers from across Middle East and Africa regions, demonstrating innovations across the healthcare, education, banking and telecommunications industries.

“We’re highlighting a cloud-based framework to deliver incredible customer and employee experiences in the ‘work-from-anywhere’ world, which has emerged over the course of the year. Our solutions support the creation of the digital workplace and future customer experience centre through core capabilities combined with one of the industry’s richest ecosystems. Based on Avaya OneCloud, these technologies enable organisations to ‘compose’ solutions – using different elements to deliver desired outcomes – to create multi-experiences for employees and customers that are just as meaningful in the digital realm as they are in person,” says Abou-Ltaif.

“At GITEX, and with our Avaya OneCloud framework, we’re orchestrating collaboration and customer experience technologies that meets these ambitions, enabling a new world of healthcare, education, commerce and government services. Supported by artificial intelligence and advanced machine learning and analytics, the world of work of every student, patient, doctor and customer service agent is becoming more intuitive, more personalised and more secure than ever before.”
