Kevin Pietersen Takes VoIP on Tour

England cricketer Kevin Pietersen has chosen VoIP provider Voicenet Solutions to help him stay in touch with friends and family while on tour of India. The England star whose positive batting style and attitude has insured he is a mainstay in the national team, has made sure he is close to home during the next few months away.

Using a headset and soft phone via his laptop, KP will be able to call his friends in the UK and his mum and brothers, who have also got a Voicenet Solutions IP phone, in South Africa for free.

Impressed by the quality of VoIP and the Voicenet Solutions system Pietersen said “I’ve heard a lot about VoIP recently and had to check it out. The clarity of this system is fantastic, it’s like talking to someone right next to you, plus it’s got many more call features than a normal phone.”

“I’ve been calling South Africa, New Zealand, Australia and the USA, I love it.”

When asked what problems he faced on previous tours he said “This is better because not only does it sound great but you don’t need to worry about cost, which could be more than £1 a minute, so you relax and therefore have a better conversation.”

Kevin who left for India on Sunday 12th February and will not return home until mid-April is determined to recommend the system to his England team-mates. “It can be difficult when you’re away from your family for so long and especially when you’re spending a lot on calls, I can’t wait to show them, the boys will love it.”

David Crombie CEO of Voicenet Solutions adds “We’re obviously very pleased Kevin has chosen Voicenet Solutions and it proves VoIP is now becoming more and more popular. He can use a soft phone when he is travelling and a normal IP phone when he is back in the UK. Whichever one he uses he can enjoy the business grade features and save himself a lot of money.”
