Kingston Communications Reaches Regional Final of National Business Awards

Kingston Communications Contact Centres has been named as a finalist for the North-East region of the National Business Awards. The National Business Awards are the UK’s most prestigious business accolade, referred to as the ‘Business Oscars’ by Chancellor of the Exchequer.

Kingston Communications Contact Centres, which provides fully managed, outsourced call handling services, is one of just four companies to be shortlisted for the North-East final in the ‘Growth Strategy of the Year’ category. This award recognises organisations that have adopted an organic growth strategy to deliver outstanding levels of sales, profit and market share improvement. Last year’s national finalists in this category included Innocent Drinks, Domino’s Pizza Group Ltd and National Savings and Investments.

Kingston Communications Contact Centres’ place in the regional final can be attributed to its increasing success in the directory enquiries (118) market. As well as operating several of its own 118 numbers, Kingston runs more than 30 directory enquiries services on behalf of other companies, including the Independent Radio News-owned service Maureen (118 212).

The business has increased its inbound call volumes by almost 400 per cent over the last two years, and around 90 per cent of the calls it handles today are for directory assistance.

Managing Director Jason Rewse-Davis commented: “‘The National Business Awards recognise and reward excellence, innovation and success. We are thrilled to have made the shortlist for our region – as well as reflecting our commitment to developing the directory enquiries market, it reinforces our position as leading providers of information services.’
