Konftel unveils new webcam

Conferencing manufacturer Konftel has launched a webcam featuring a 90° field of view, two built-in microphones, full HD picture quality and a 4x digital zoom. The company said the device has been designed to cater for both home and office working environments.

The Konftel Cam10 uses picture noise reduction technology, low light capabilities and swift autofocus to enhance the picture quality. It is portable, using plug-and-play USB connectivity to allow for easy set-up and operation. The device’s wide field of view has been designed to clearly capture the user’s environment, allowing the use of visual aids such as whiteboards.

Jeff May, UK sales director, Konftel, explained that the “business class webcam” has been designed to “reflect the massive demand from desktop users seeking professional quality personal video meetings”.

He added, “You only get one chance to create a good first impression which makes high quality video and audio even more critical especially in an age where ever more business meetings take place online. It used to be a suit or a handbag or a watch that impressed in a physical meeting room, now it’s the sharpness and clarity of a video feed. And if you’re sharp and clear, presentations or negotiations and interactions are going to be 100 per cent more impactful.”

The Konftel Cam10 uses a standard damping bracket, with the option of tripod mounting for alternative camera placements. The company said that the device can be paired Konftel Ego, a speakerphone, to further enhance the audio.

In addition, the mechanical shutter can function as a built-in lens cap, to improve privacy and security. The Konftel Cam10 is available now, with pricing starting at £109.
