Lancom Systems In European Sales Drive

Voice and data networking systems manufacturer Lancom Systems has appointed Claudia Preiss as European channel marketing manager. The company says Preiss will bring a fresh approach and a wealth of expertise to Lancom, and will be heavily involved in the continual expansion throughout Europe.

Lancom says it currently has more than 300,000 products deployed in Europe, including Internet, VPN, Voice over IP and Wireless LAN communications technologies. Lancom has also gathered more than 800 distributors in central Europe and the UK, and its Blue-chip customers include Mazda, BMW, AOL, Deutsche Telekom and Deutsche Post.

Preiss will lead country managers in the UK, France, Spain, Germany and the Netherlands, where she will continue to build up their portfolio of clients and contacts in the distribution and specialist-reseller channels. Preiss will now be responsible for planning, coordination and control of all European channel-marketing activities, as well as unifying the launch of new products and services throughout Europe.

Preiss brings with her ten years of experience in sales and marketing within the IT industry. She previously held the position of director of marketing and communications at COS Distribution, a specialist in IT, telecommunications and electronic products, where she was heavily involved in raising COS Distribution’s visibility and profile in Germany.

“It’s great to have Claudia on board and I know she will play a key role in our ever expanding team. Her wealth of experience and knowledge of the IT channel will guide our work with distributors and end-customers,” said Ian Holt, country manager at Lancom Systems. “Claudia understands Lancom’s brand and how its clear channel strategy will drive expansion throughout the rest of Europe.”

“I was attracted to Lancom because of its reputation for advanced engineering and design in its field” said Preiss. “I am looking forward to the exciting challenge of building on our track record and leading the channel strategy across Europe.”
