Lloyd Bowden joins the Word in a newly created role to establish the Mitel telephone systems division.
Previously Lloyd was managing director at south Wales-based telecoms re-seller, Boucon Network Solutions, where he considerably increased the size of the business and built a close partnership with global telecoms specialist Mitel.
The new solutions offered by the Word will complement the businesses’ existing mobile offering and the recently established fixed line division and will complete the Word’s telecoms portfolio.
Lloyd’s main responsibilities will be to recruit a strong team of business development managers to grow sales and establish relationships with key suppliers to enable the supply, delivery, installation and support of complex VoIP telephony networks.
Speaking of his appointment, Lloyd said: “I’m really looking forward to the challenge of developing a completely new division at the Word which will expand our offering to both existing and potential new clients. My aim is to build our reputation of being the best Mitel supplier, not only in Wales but also across the UK, as well as building on our existing partnership with Mitel.
“It’s an exciting time to be joining the Word as the company goes through a period of expansion and I relish the challenges ahead.”
The new offering from the Word will add to its existing partnership with Vodafone. The business is also developing its own billing platform, moving towards customers having one point of contact and one bill for all communications services.
