Mobile technology solutions provider M-Netics announced today that it has acquired Unique-ID, a specialist supplier of mobile solutions, auto-ID equipment, RFID and tracking products to the UK logistics market. Financial terms of the transaction are not being disclosed.
Unique-ID will become a wholly owned subsidiary of M-Netics Holdings Ltd and will continue to trade and operate as a standalone business within the group.
The combination of M-Netics and Unique-ID will create a major enterprise mobility solutions supplier and integrator for the UK market. The relentless appetite of major companies to increase supply chain efficiency, deliver improved customer service and exploit the growth areas of multi-channel retailing and e-commerce logistics are resulting in continuing demand for mobile technologies.
“This acquisition extends and deepens our capability in the auto-ID and industrial mobile market,” said Tim Hamilton-Davies, Chairman of M-Netics Holdings Ltd. “Unique-ID’s core strengths of product development, manufacture and service, will complement M-Netics’ software solutions, wireless networking and service management offerings. We are excited to welcome Unique-ID into the M-Netics’ operation.”
Commenting for Unique-ID, Tony Rainbow, CEO, said “Whilst in the same marketplace, enterprise mobility solutions, the M-Netics and Unique-ID businesses are a perfect fit. Our domain knowledge in tracking products, RFID and multi-vendor service and support extends the M-Netics portfolio, and together we will provide mobile solutions for the complete supply chain from manufacture, to store, to delivery.”
