Maggie Berry, managing director of womenintechnology.co.uk, the career portal and recruitment service for women in IT, has been shortlisted for ‘Business Woman of the Year’ in the Women of the Future Awards 2010.
Founded and chaired by Pinky Lilani OBE and hosted by Caspian Publishing and Real Business magazine in association with Shell, the awards celebrate the rising stars of business, the arts, science, technology and media, honouring women aged 35 and under who are making an impact in their chosen fields.
“It is a great honour to have been shortlisted for such a prestigious award” commented Maggie Berry, “especially as the competition was steep and included some top names. Since launching womenintechnology.co.uk , I have worked very hard to promote the importance of women in IT and help women progress in the technology industry. For these efforts to be acknowledged is fantastic news”.
Matthew Rock, co-founder of Caspian Publishing and editor-in-chief of Real Business, said: “The Women of the Future shortlists are a glimpse into a bright future for business. Enterprise is everywhere – in large businesses and small, right across British life. Unleash this talent, and Britain’s future is truly exciting.”
After meeting the judging panel led by HRH Princess Badiya bint El Hassan this month, the finalists will be announced at the awards ceremony which will take place at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square on Tuesday 9th November, 2010.
