Maintel has been awarded the ISO27001 Information Security Management System Certification.
The ISO27001 Standard, which covers electronic, physical and building security, ensures that Maintel meets the rigorous requirements of its multinational and public sector customers in terms of protecting their data and information.
ISO27001 is a very prescriptive standard with specific requirements covering the handling and security of information and is regarded as a ‘milestone’ certification to achieve.
Kevin Stevens, Chief Operating Officer at Maintel, says: “ISO27001 is about how you handle any piece of information in the businesses, whether it is written, faxed, electronic, spoken, emailed or written on a scrap of paper. It’s about how you manage, secure and identify that information, categorise it and deal with security breaches. The achievement of this Standard gives Maintel’s customers real confidence that their information is secure.”
Maintel recently announced that it had become the only Avaya partner in the UK to hold all five of the company’s ‘Expert’ accreditations. An independent reseller, Maintel also offers solutions from Siemens and Mitel.
