Maintenance Engineers Take on MyMobileWorkers Technology

REMOTE maintenance engineers working for a leading healthcare and fresh produce construction business have scrapped paperwork and switched to mobile app technology MyMobileWorkers to increase efficiency and cut costs.

In addition to their core construction business, MTX Contracts Ltd engineers maintain equipment on their capital projects to ensure that the systems are operating within the correct parameters.

Clients across both sectors include the NHS in addition to large blue chip organisations that supply fruit to the supermarkets.

The team previously recorded all maintenance jobs on paper which resulted in invoicing delays as long as a week as engineers had to physically bring the documents back to head office to be entered manually onto the system.

Using MyMobileWorkers means that jobs can be recorded ‘live’ and details such as maintenance parts used and images of the repair can be logged via the app. This information is then fed back to head office instantly, giving managers real time information about staff locations and updates on work in progress.

James Tumber, field service manager at MTX Contracts, which is headquartered in Stockport, said: “Removing unnecessary paperwork is one of the best things we have done for our maintenance staff and the result is a much more streamlined and organised process. MyMobileWorkers is no doubt saving us a lot of money because of reduced administration, quicker invoicing and less travel time between jobs and head office.

“As manager, I can log into the portal and check where all of my workers are throughout the day, what jobs have been completed and where, as well as assigning them jobs to complete.

“Using MyMobileWorkers also helps us with auditing and ISO quality accreditations, for example to show we have carried out checks to ensure our vehicles are roadworthy to drive.

“Our customers also benefit because they too can log into the portal and see job progress. Switching to a paper free system has been straightforward and we can see massive benefits of working in a world of live data.”

Graham Whistance, owner of Momote which developed MyMobileWorkers, said: “As MTX Contracts Ltd is one of the fastest growing companies in its industry; it needed to put the technology and processes in place that would help it to grow further.

“In a world focused on money saving and efficiency, it’s clear to see that the paper job sheet no longer cuts it and managers need access to instant data which can be accessed anywhere and anytime.”
