Many Winners for Corporate Telecoms Charity Football Event

A team of footballing fundraisers from Corporate Telecommunications, the distributor of headsets, telephony, voice and data installation equipment, took on a team from global electronics giant Fujitsu Services earlier this month in the inaugural Corporate Telecommunications - Fujitsu Charity Shield, raising over £600 in the process.

In a close game, Corporate Telecommunications managed to turn a 2-2 half-time deadlock in to a 5-4 victory.

The event, held at Daten Sports Club in Culcheth, raised £640 for two charities, Cancer Research and Children in Need.

Paul Baxter, Corporate Telecommunication’s general manager and victorious captain, said “it is not about winners and losers, it is about raising money for cancer sufferers and deprived children – and it was great that we were able to do it with such a valued client as Fujitsu.”

Gary Ashcroft, an inventory manager at Fujitsu Services and the defeated captain, added: “it was a close game on the night, but Corporate Telecommunications just sneaked it. We can’t be too disappointed though, because we managed to raise some money for our chosen charities, which was the whole purpose of the game.”
