Distributor Mayflex has announced the launch of its latest comprehensive product catalogue show-casing the LevelOne brand of Ethernet networking products. This follows its recent announcement as master distributor of German manufacturer DDC in the UK.
The product range includes the very latest in Ethernet switching for the SME market from unmanaged 24 port 10/100, through to high-end SNMP multi-port Gigabit. A major strength of the range is the exclusive use of new mini-GBIC technology for Gigabit fibre connectivity rather than plethora of proprietary fibre modules found on other vendor’s products.
Tracey Calcutt, marketing manager at Mayflex says the GSW-2472TGX is a good example of the feature rich product that Mayflex is offering to the UK market. “To pre-empt network problems all packets are filtered for errors together with configurable broadcast storm prevention and MAC address table ageing. Network security and broadcast containment can be implemented with a choice of either port based or tagged VLAN. Network managers considering the roll out of VoIP or video streaming now or in the future can utilise eight levels of prioritisation on a per port basis. For hotels’ and ISP’s looking to provision Internet services, the port bandwidth control feature allows bandwidth to be ‘sliced.’
While the LevelOne brand is a relative newcomer to the UK it is already widely adopted in continental Europe. Calcutt added, “We are confident that the combination of low cost and quality will ensure that the LevelOne range will lead to early adoption in the home and SME market places.”
