IP specialist distributor Mayflex has announced a further strengthening and restructuring of its Physical Security division’s sales team with the appointment of Gary Harmer into the role of Director of Sales.
Harmer joins Mayflex from Norbain, where over a 20 year period he led strategic and major account development teams and was involved in many major account and project wins. Harmer joins the business on January 4th 2011, managing the current Mayflex security sales team recently boosted by the recruitment of Neil Jeffrey and Steve Green. He will be responsible for developing the strategic direction of the division, and maximising the sales growth opportunities offered by the increasing adoption of IP based network video and physical security systems.
Andrew Percival, Mayflex UK Managing Director, announces the appointment, “We are delighted to be able to bring so much knowledge and experience of the security market into the business; these opportunities do not come along very often. Add to this Gary’s natural enthusiasm and determination and the new recruits we announced just last month, and we are creating a team capable of supporting the growing number of our customers looking to become involved in the IP security market.”
Harmer confirms the scope of the opportunity, “I am delighted to be joining the Mayflex team as they have a first class reputation as a leading distributor of technology based solutions. As the IT infrastructure and security markets converge I am confident that Mayflex will be best positioned to provide a host of value added services alongside a comprehensive product range that will meet the demands of today’s professional integrator and system user.”
Percival continues, “If you consider the pressures on margin and revenue opportunities in the structured cabling, and wired Ethernet markets, we believe the transmission to a converged network incorporating all elements of Physical Security from camera systems through to access control, represent a fantastic growth opportunity for our customer base.”
