Mayor of Salford Cuts Ribbon on 2ergo New HQ

The Mayor of Salford, Councillor Margaret Morris welcomed 2ergo to their new worldwide headquarters. The mayor officially opened the new base of 2ergo, at the Digital World Centre, alongside Media City UK, in Salford Quays.

The company provides enabling technology behind mobile marketing, mobile customer relationship management, and mobile entertainment and media. Its clients include worldwide business giants such as O2, AT&T, Microsoft and Yahoo!

Based in Lancashire since its formation in 1999, 2ergo has grown by 630 per cent in the last five years. It now has operations in Europe, Latin America and the USA, as well as a partner organisation in India and further aggressive expansion plans.

During her visit, Councillor Morris was given a tour of the offices by 2ergo group managing director Chris Brassington, who said: “The mayor particularly welcomed that we’ve brought significant employment to the area and plan to expand our team further at all levels. We’ll do this by recruiting people from the local community, ranging from highly skilled specialists to administration staff, and implementing a graduate trainee scheme next month, for example.

“She was also delighted an organisation like ours, at the forefront of technology, had boosted the Digital World Centre by moving here, as this takes further the regeneration of an area in serious need of it only a few years ago.

“We demonstrated some of our mobile marketing applications to her and throughout the visit she showed a real interest in, and understanding of, our innovative work and ambitions. She remarked for example on how mobile methods could improve communication, both internal and external, in the public sector.”

Brassington added the move meant 2ergo would play an even greater role in establishing mobile means as the communication methods of choice between organisations and their audiences. He said this rapid trend was being helped by developments such as the rise of the Smartphone and more organisations understanding the benefits mobile methods offered over many traditional means of contact, such as significant cost reductions and higher response rates.

He added: “A major benefit of our move is we’re now close to Media City, because we already work with major broadcasters such as FOX News in the USA and some top marketing companies. Having other leading media and agencies as neighbours therefore makes perfect business sense.”

Councillor Morris said: “It’s a real pleasure to welcome a company so successful in its specialist field and with highly ambitious growth plans to Salford Quays. I know 2ergo and its staff will greatly enjoy, and benefit from, being based at this fantastic development. On behalf of the local authority, I welcome them warmly and wish them every success in their new home.”

At the heart of 2ergo’s success is Multiserve, a technology platform that allows personalised messages to be created and sent via text, multimedia, voice, email, mobile websites, or combinations of these, from one source to audiences ranging from hundreds to millions.

2ergo’s technology is utilised by marketing professionals for tasks such as promoting, informing and cross-selling, simply and quickly. It is also widely used for ordering concert tickets, paying for on-street parking, sending maps and discount vouchers, and providing updates about local council services, among other functions.
