Medal winning employee jets off to Venice!

Katrina Macleod, Provisioning Manager for Inverness based HIGHnet, will jet off to the city of canals and palaces this Friday for a weekend stay in a four star hotel, with her fiancé Danny. The surprise gift was arranged by her HIGHnet employers, father and son team, David and Dave Siegel. They established the company in 1994 and Katrina joined the team four years later in 1998, when she was just 18.

Based in Inverness, HIGHnet is Scotland's leading business communications provider.

Katrina said: “This was a complete surprise. I had joked that I deserved a medal for 10 years loyal service but I didn't expect to get one, let alone a lovely trip to Venice as well! I've had many career highlights over the last 10 years but this is certainly one of the best.”

Dave Siegel, Managing Director at HIGHnet commented: “Although a small Highland company with 25 employees, HIGHnet has flourished in line with the telecommunications sector and the demand for different services. Our success is wholly down to the dedication and hard work of our staff and we believe in recognising and rewarding this.

He added “We're very proud of Katrina's track record with us. She started here 10 years ago as office junior and now manages all the orders for broadband, new telephone lines and IP Telephony as well as providing professional support to the Operations Manager.”

Katrina added “It's mad to think that when I first arrived at HIGHnet for my interview 10 years ago I almost ran out of the interview room as I was that nervous! I'm so glad I didn't – since then I've seen my career progress, made some great friends through the company and enjoyed, or possibly endured some fascinating experiences including paintballing and go-karting. I'm looking forward to this wonderful trip to Venice and of course many more happy years with HIGHnet.”
