Metronet has today announced details of its expansion into a third data centre location by partnering with TeleData UK Ltd; owners and operators of South Manchester data centre and colocation facility, Delta House.
Metronet (UK) is a business only Internet Service Provider that combine wireless and fibre network services with specialist hosting platforms to deliver complex IT solutions to customers throughout the UK. The company boasts over 1200 customers from SMEs, to blue chip organisations such as Manchester City Council, ao.com, Bruntwood, MediaCityUK and Intu.
Operating since 2007 and located within one of Manchester’s Airport City Enterprise Zones, TeleData’s carrier neutral data centre facility hosts server and telecommunications equipment for organisations looking to guard against the damaging effects of server or network downtime – such as flood, fire or power outages. Services provided at the data centre include colocation, cloud, managed and hybrid IT solutions, all specifically designed to optimise the delivery and performance of its customer’s IT and technology resources.
Tony Hughes, Sales Director at Metronet (UK) comments on the new Partnership “Following a comprehensive data centre selection process, TeleData quickly became the standout choice for us. Their resilient technical infrastructure, diverse network capabilities and an agile approach to a partner relationship all came together to meet our exact requirements. The data centre is located within very close proximity to Airport City – a key location that’s central to Manchester’s plans to become one of the top digital cities in the world and so is a hugely attractive location for Metronet to have a presence to deliver our services”.
The partnership also enables TeleData’s own customers to work with Metronet (UK) and take network services from the provider within the same facility.
Matthew Edgley, Sales Director at TeleData comments “Metronet (UK)’s growth over the years has been staggering and they are now a clear leader in their field. The forming of this new partnership is a big strategic win for TeleData, but it’s also great news for our own customers who are able to connect directly into the wide range of Metronet (UK) solutions from within our data centre – further enhancing our hosted customers’ choice and the therefore the overall TeleData proposition as a carrier neutral data centre facility.”
