Micro-P, a wholly owned subsidiary of DCC plc and a Mobile, Retail and B2B distributor within the UK, is pleased to announce a strategic partnership to distribute Tech21’s product range in the UK from April this year. The agreement includes Smartphone, Tablets and Laptop/MacBook solutions through the Mobile, Retail and B2B sales teams.

The mobile accessories business has changed radically over the last few years and, as Micro-P’s Head of Mobile, John Doughty explains, this may require a change of mind set with some resellers.
The first change is that accessories should no longer be treated as an afterthought. ‘Some resellers still equate mobile accessories as headsets with curly wires, cheap USB cables and chargers,’ says Doughty. ‘That’s not what accessories are about.’
There’s also the danger that some resellers only mention accessories after closing a handset sale. ‘There’s a very good chance that the customer will go to one of the big high street retailers and make their purchases there,’ continues Doughty. ‘Therefore the sensible approach is to treat accessories as part of a complete solution by carefully establishing the customer’s needs.’
