MLL joins a select group of UK Telecommunications companies who hold the certification

MLL Telecom has been awarded ISO27001 information security management system (ISMS) certification, one of only 550 UK companies across all market sectors. MLL Telecom is unusual in that the scope of the certification is much broader than that for the majority of companies.

Simon Banks, Director of Service Development explains, “the majority of companies who undertake ISO27001 apply the standard to a single, or limited areas of their business. MLL Telecom is exceptional in that the scope of the certification covers a wide range of business functions including field services, the network operations centre, finance, network design, project implementation and IT.”

In July 2011 MLL Telecom announced its commitment to achieve the standard by 2012. MLL Telecom worked with Taylor Baines Ltd and DNV - one of the world’s leading certification bodies, to achieve this goal. The award is the result of ten months of dedication and commitment to successfully execute on its plan.

“Security has to be the cornerstone of outsourced services, for both the private and public sector. It gives our customers peace of mind that we are handling data related to their network securely and with the respect that it deserves. We foresee that in the next two to three years ISO27001 will become a prerequisite for supplying global systems integrators,” added Banks.

Gary Marven, CEO, commented, “Achieving ISO27001 demonstrates our continuing investment in systematic improvements to our fully integrated approach to building, operating, managing and securing our customers' services and delivering innovative network solutions. This accreditation will help us achieve our aim of integrated security, quality and innovation in our systems and will enable MLL Telecom to remain a highly competitive vendor of network and ICT solutions.”
